April, 1952:  Pansy Pocket Apron

Pansy Pocket Apron drawing   Pansy Pocket Apron photo

The Pansy Pocket Apron came in yellow chintz, with yellow organdy for the ruffle, but was also available in blue and rose chintz, with white organdy for the ruffle.   Accompanying the fabric were "Fabricolor Paint Sticks," which are a great deal like crayons.  The fabric was ironed to make it hot and then drawn on with the Fabricolor Sticks, and the colors melted into the fabric.  Individual results would vary considerably, because the maker of the apron had only a drawing showing approximately where the colors should be applied, not an exact pattern.
