August, 1951: Bluebird Vanity Veils

This kit could make either a single dresser scarf or a set of them that
would fit on the old-style vanity, which had a central, lower surface
in the center and a raised area on each side. The pattern was
made with iron-on transfers that were included, and the decorative
edging was sewn using embroidery floss. The initial on the
transfer matched the last name of the Club member.

This month's letter mentions the new way the Club has of addressing the
kits: A Graphotype prints the members' names and addresses on
little metal plates, which are then used as printing plates in the
Addressograph.
