August, 1951:  Bluebird Vanity Veils
Bluebird Vanity Veils drawing

This kit could make either a single dresser scarf or a set of them that would fit on the old-style vanity, which had a central, lower surface in the center and a raised area on each side.  The pattern was made with iron-on transfers that were included, and the decorative edging was sewn using embroidery floss.  The initial on the transfer matched the last name of the Club member.

This month's letter mentions the new way the Club has of addressing the kits:  A Graphotype prints the members' names and addresses on little metal plates, which are then used as printing plates in the Addressograph.
